Loudspeaker enclosure volume is one of many factors that affects the sound quality of your loudspeaker system.



Let me give you some magic enclosure volumes that makes your loudspeaker sound great.

Note: The above  dimensions work great for sealed enclosures only. Make sure you add extra volume depending on the size of the magnet and side wall damping.

The enclosure size for 15 and 18 inch speaker can be used  for subwoofer also. (See also Magic volume for subwoofers)

More often, t/s parameters are used to work out the enclosure volume.You may find those parameters in the manufacturer's specification sheet.

But some speakers may or maynot tell you all these t/s parameters. You may have to spend time on working out these parameters manually.

In such cases the above table comes in handy.

Tricks to make sound more punchy and lively

  • Go for high sensitivity speakers/pa speakers (professional audio) for satellites .
  • Choose a sealed enclosure design rather than a ported enclosure.
